I run to prevent stress and burnout. I see too many older nurses worn out and stressed and broken down and I don’t want that to happen to me.

So yes, she has lost about 130 pounds in the 5 years she has had her lap band. But as her surgeon I’m not quite sure how. With a diet heavy in cigarettes and vodka, she has avoided all forms of exercise for all these years. After my constant pestering she finally agreed to participate in my ritual 5:30 AM workouts. (@nursewendy is no longer part of that 5:30AM workout routine )
For the first day, we just had her wake up, show up, and take measurements.

There is only one thing in this world I truly need. (Other than chocolate or chocolate martinis.) And that is Apple Strudel PopTarts. The problem is (1) They are only rarely carried in the stores around my house and I end up needing to buy a case through Amazon and (2) When I finally do get them, they get mixed up with my kids nasty PopTarts.
